Just for fun, I’ve listed some favorite links below.
History Links
Jane Austen's Letters (Brabourne Edition)
Many of Jane Austen's letters are free to read online, full of lovely gossip and details of day-to-day life in the Georgian and Regency eras, as well as her advice to her niece on writing a novel. On the same website, you can find useful notes on social history from Austen's time period, in the context of Pride and Prejudice.
Writing Links
Preditors & Editors
If you're looking for a literary agent, make sure you stop here first to differentiate between the professionals and the scam agents.
Shaken & Stirred
Gwenda Bond's fabulous blog on books and the literary life
The Historical Novel Society
I'm very happy to be a member of the Historical Novel Society, which is open to anyone with an interest in historical fiction in any genre.
Science Fiction-Fantasy Female Writers
SF-FFW is a private email loop for women who have published at least one full-length fiction novel OR at least five short stories with science fiction or fantasy aspects to recognized publishers. Even if you're not (yet) eligible to join, you can still visit their website to find out more about their members. I was very happy to join SF-FFW.
Clarion West Science Fiction & Fantasy Writing Workshop
Entrance to this 6-week residential workshop is based on competitive admission. It's intense, amazing, and (in my case, at least) life-changing. I whole-heartedly recommend it.
Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA)
SFWA is the professional writers' association for science fiction & fantasy writers. I'm pleased to be an active member. Even if you aren't yet eligible to join SFWA, you can find helpful articles on their website about almost every aspect of the writing craft and career.
Dog Links
Border Collie Trust
We found Maya at this rescue center for border collies and collie-mixes, located in Birmingham, England. Needless to say, we are incredibly grateful to them and would like to support them as much as possible.
Border Collie Rescue
This is an American rescue organization, again specializing in border collies.
For more general dog adoption and information links, please check out the RSPCA or DogsTrust (in England) or the Humane Society of the United States.
Some of my favorite People and Writers

And last but not least, my companions in crime, who exchange critiques and support and chocolate in our common writing endeavors (and, even more importantly, write books full of wonder, adventure, and joy):
Thank you guys!
